turning arround

One of the best things in life is when you see things are going your way! Especially when it falls on hard times. For example, I've been feeling lately that life is once again starting to turn arround for me. I went from unempoloyed to having a steady job. From living with my mother to moving in to my first apartment. Not to mention the self esteem improvement. I'm even starting to notice a change in my weight. Sure, it's only a matter of time before things strat falling apart again, but as long as I keep try to live a good life, hopefully, good carma will keep coming my way. I love lifes little ups and downs. It's what makes life life!

New Beginnings

This weekend is going to be the start of a great big change, because I’m moving into an apartment with my boyfriend. This is especially exciting for me because I have been living on the same street for 15 years. Pretty lame, huh? It was different when I was growing up; my mother wanted stability for my sister and I. Now it just feels like I need a change. Really badly! When my boyfriend and I started looking for an apartment, everyone we called never answered their phones. The first apartment that called us back is a nice two bedroom duplex. We have a nice sized back yard with places for us to park, lots of space, and we can have dogs and cats too! This apartment was a steal too! With rent being only $430 a month! I still can’t figure out how we got such a nice apartment, especially since it was the only one that called us back. I’m hoping that this apartment will be exactly the kind of change I need to get out of my boring rut. Wish us luck!

busey week

This week has been, and is going to continue being a busey week. I have a whole lot of homework to do, and I just statred working full time at my job. Therefore, I have to either do my homework before I go to work or try to finish it after work before I fall asleep. If that's not enough, I have to try to find the time to go looking for apartments. Since my boyfriend works construction out of toun, and I lost lost my licence, that means I have to do all of this on foot. Of corse, I can ride the bus, but we all know what a drag that can be! I'll probably just hope the weater is nice enough to ride my bike. Knowing my luck, It will be snowing. I just can't wait until my busey week is over, and I can lounge arround at home, with my boyfriend. That'll be nice.

I don’t know what to write about!

Every week I have to write a blog for a school assignment. My teacher tells my class that we can write about anything. Therefore, you would think that I could think of something interesting to write about, right? Unfortunately, I have, what you would call, a boring life. Most of the time I have no problem coming up with things to write about, but lately all I ever do is go to school, go to work, and hang out with my friends, if I have any time. Nothing that I do is very interesting, except when my boyfriend comes home from work. He's quite the character! I was originally thinking about writing a blog about Halloween, but that is too cliché. Because of the fact that my life is boring, I can’t think of anything that is going on in my life, to write about. Trust me; what I’m writing about now is more interesting than that! I guess you could call this blog a writer’s block blog. As for those whom are reading this blog, I’m sorry that I couldn’t give you anything more interesting to read. I’m also sorry that I’ve officially wasted a couple minuets of your life.

Trying to be optimistic

People often tell me that absence makes the heart grow fonder. In most cases, it does. However, if your luck is anything like mine, this popular saying means nothing. I found this out last summer when I anxiously waited for my boyfriend to return from basic training and A.I.T. At the time, we had been dating for a little over a year. I had waited for him for five months, and I thought that it would bring us closer together. Unfortunately, it was quite the opposite. By the time he came home, he no longer wanted to be in a relationship. This came as a huge shock to me because of the sweet letters that he wrote me. Although it was extremely difficult to get over, I handled the situation the best that I could. To make sure that I wouldn’t have my heart broken again, I promised myself never that I would never wait on a man again. Sure enough, I got over my ex boyfriend and everything was back to normal. I ended up meeting a really sweet man that lived in an apartment above my friend. We spent a couple months hanging out almost every day. After getting to know each other, and realizing how much we had in common, it made perfect sense for us to be together. We have now been together for almost four months. We’re really happy together, but like every couple, every once in a while, we run into a problem. Currently we’re separate homes that make us unhappy. Therefore, we’re trying to find an apartment together. Though money is tight, were working together to find the home of our dreams. While desperate times call for desperate measures, my boyfriend recently ended up taking a job that pays him good money. The only downfall is that he has to work out of town. This means that he’s gone Monday through Friday, every week. This is a challenge because we’re used to spending everyday with each other. My one hope is that absence does make our hearts grow fonder. Wish us luck!

Every Day is Exactly the Same!

At some point in time, every one has been, or will be in a rut. Whether this rut involves financial or relationship problems, and even addiction. There are millions of examples of ruts that people get into. Either way, the fact sill remains that people often settle themselves into a routine or habit. Even though some people prefer to live their life in a rut, most of them cringe at the fact of having something repeated all the time. I am a perfect example of one who hates the idea of a rut, let alone being in one. However, I always seem to get myself in some kind of jam that always takes me forever to get out of. Currently I’m in my idea of the rut of all ruts. This is because most of my ruts are fixed with minimal effort, but the one that I'm in now is a little different. I’m in ,what I like to call, the every day is exactly the same rut. I know, the name could be a lot more creative, but it’s pretty self explanatory. It reminds me of the song from ‘nine inch nails’, tiled the same as my blog. Every day, even before I wake up, I automatically know how my day is going to go. Even on the days that I don't have school, it seems to be that I’m in the same spot, doing the same thing, all the time! This may sound like an easy thing to fix, but the many people out there who have been in my same situation, know that it’s easier said than done. Except for all the rich people out there, at this point in time, the usual response is “ I'll just take one of my vacations from work and go to the Bahamas!” In order to fix the ruts that I often get into, I find out what it is that I’m repeating , and do something different. My problem now is that I don't have the time or the money to do something different. My guess is that I will, sadly, be stuck in this rut until I get my new apartment. At least then I'll be doing everything that I normally do, in a different surrounding. Maybe then, I will have something more interesting to write about!

A Parade of Disappointment

I have always loved Oktoberfest! I love the rides, the food, the people, but most of all, I love the parade. Before I could even walk I‘ve been watching the Oktoberfest parade. Every year, I anticipated the excitement of the parade. However, I wasn’t really impressed with it this year! One of the main reasons for this is the lack of creativity of the floats. Normally, people try to improve their floats every year for a little friendly competition. This year more of the floats haven’t changed a bit. Where’s the fun in that?! Not to mention the fact that there weren’t as many floats as there usually is. Therefore, the parade was shorter. This disappointed me because, I remember the parade lasting until almost four ‘o clock at night. Those were the good old days! Maybe if the floats weren’t spaced so far apart from each other, the parade would have ended another hour earlier. I also didn’t like how the people riding on the floats seemed less enthusiastic. Usually the people on the floats are always handing out neat stuff or just acting crazy to entertain the crowd. Overall ,in my opinion, the parade was pretty lame. I’m starting to think that the only way the parade would be as fun as it used to be, is if the person watching it was wasted!

Drag Races

One of the most intense adrenaline rushes is drag racing, and on Saturday night, that’s what I did. My boyfriend and I took his 2001 Monte Carlo to the La Crosse Fairground Speedway, and raced it. There was some really good competition racing that night, especially the 1970’s ere Chevelles. There was everything from hotrods, to trucks, to miniature motor bikes. For the first half hour all the cars raced just for practice and fun. This was a good chance to see what his Monte Carlo could do. After the practice rounds, they split the cars up into different groups to race them. The first car that we went up against was a Ford Taurus SHO. We ended up beating him, but shortly after that, unfortunately, he beat us. Our second and last loss was a newer model Firebird. However, we were victorious over a few races. One of them being a trans am in very good condition. That one shocked us a bit! Although we didn’t come out on top, we did have a lot of fun! Isn’t that what it’s all about?

The Eve Of Destruction

Between the explosions, the crashes, and the excitement of the crowd, the La Crosse Fairground Speedway was the place to be on Saturday night. The Eve Of Destruction has been the annual crowd pleaser for as long as I can remember, and every year this event becomes even more exciting. The first event of the evening was the hornets race. Which is a group of four cylinder cars that race around the track for points while demolishing the opponents car. After the hornets race, came the steel wall challenge. This is an interesting one because the racer drives as fast as they can through a car that stands straight up. There are a lot of different racing divisions, however, these regularly scheduled events were not as interesting as the breaker popping, form the fireworks ,during the bus jump. The bus to jumped off of a ramp, over eight cars ,that have been previously crushed by the monster trucks. Even though the power was out for almost three hours, the stunt men on bikes, and the jet car, livened up the crowd.. Luckily, the power came back on right before the last event of the night. Which was the trailer race. This one was my favorite, because it is basically a group of vehicles ,with trailers, that completely annihilate each other. Overall I would have to say that it was worth the money.
