The Eve Of Destruction

Between the explosions, the crashes, and the excitement of the crowd, the La Crosse Fairground Speedway was the place to be on Saturday night. The Eve Of Destruction has been the annual crowd pleaser for as long as I can remember, and every year this event becomes even more exciting. The first event of the evening was the hornets race. Which is a group of four cylinder cars that race around the track for points while demolishing the opponents car. After the hornets race, came the steel wall challenge. This is an interesting one because the racer drives as fast as they can through a car that stands straight up. There are a lot of different racing divisions, however, these regularly scheduled events were not as interesting as the breaker popping, form the fireworks ,during the bus jump. The bus to jumped off of a ramp, over eight cars ,that have been previously crushed by the monster trucks. Even though the power was out for almost three hours, the stunt men on bikes, and the jet car, livened up the crowd.. Luckily, the power came back on right before the last event of the night. Which was the trailer race. This one was my favorite, because it is basically a group of vehicles ,with trailers, that completely annihilate each other. Overall I would have to say that it was worth the money.

I myself have never been to the speedway for this event. The way you make it sound though is that it's a lot of fun and entertainment. After reading this it makes me want to check it out sometime.

When I was younger, both of my parents used to race at LaCrosse fairground speedway and I used to love going to the races to watch them! The eve of destruction was always my favorite by far! My parents stopped racing once my sisters and I started getting older because they wanted to spend more time with us girls. We still go to the races everyonce in a while though.
